The Right Side of the Tracks 1

  • Footscray Train Station Irving Street, Footscray (map)

Right Side of the Tracks is a guided walk starting at Footscray Train Station. Our first stop is at Franco Cozzo where the residents live close by. Franco Cozzo has been a stable in Footscray and is part of Footscray’s identity. Here a performance work called ‘Unfamiliar Noise’ by Alix Petahdevised by Jonathan Homsey will take place seen from the street. Her performance work looks at the western suburbs of Melbourne are changing at a rapid pace; see a citizen of Footscray negotiate how to interpret her ever-changing surroundings.

We then continue our journey down the street with a local resident who will talk about their experiences living in this part of Footscray. See artist Daniela Rodriguez collaborate with local residents to capture their time living in this unique pocket of Footscray. Slideshows of images from the residents and a projection work by Victoria Polytechnic student Daborah Agok.

Presented in association with Due West: Immersive Arts festival. For more information visit duewestfestival.com.au
